Set up day has finally arrived!

Set-up day had finally arrived. After “patiently” waiting for our racks, grow lights, heating mats, trays, and buckets to arrive, we were finally able to set them up this past weekend. We took many progress photos as we set-up, and are filled with anticipation for our first year as The Marigold Market. 

We decided to start with a single rack as we are practicing soil blocking for all of our seedlings that are able to withstand root disturbances. Soil blocking allows us to germinate thousands of seeds within a small space and with zero waste. Keeping with our eco-friendly and sustainable practices, the rest of the seedlings will be planted in coconut coir pots within reusable trays.

Many of our seedlings will be starting their germination process within the coming week and we are super excited to bring you along to grow with us in this journey!
