Plant Type: Tropical climbing perennial
Best For: Hanging baskets, shelves, trellises and climbing supports
Pet Friendly: No, toxic to cats and dogs if ingested.*
Available Size: 6" nursery pots

Swiss Cheese Plant is a tropical houseplant known for the distinctive natural holes, or fenestrations, that develop throughout its leaves. Its trailing vines and lush green foliage make it especially attractive in hanging baskets or cascading from a shelf.

Native to tropical regions of Central and South America, Monstera adansonii is naturally a climbing plant that uses trees and other vegetation for support. Indoors, its vines can be allowed to trail freely or trained upward on a trellis or moss pole.

Care

Light: Medium to bright indirect light. Avoid intense direct sun.
Water: Allow the upper soil to dry slightly between watering. Avoid soggy soil.
Temperature: Prefers 18°C–27°C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C.
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity.
Growth: Vining and climbing, but can also be allowed to trail from shelves or hanging baskets.
Maintenance: Trim long vines as needed and provide a climbing support if upright growth is preferred.

Plant appearance, bloom colour and size may vary.
Each plant is a living specimen and naturally unique.

* Swiss Cheese Plant is toxic to cats and dogs if chewed or ingested. Insoluble calcium oxalate crystals can cause immediate burning and irritation of the mouth, drooling, vomiting and difficulty swallowing. These exposures are generally considered low severity, but seek veterinary care immediately if your pet has difficulty swallowing or breathing.
